Our Programs: Veterans
Our goal is to connect veterans with agricultural opportunities, helping them contribute to rural prosperity and achieve an enhanced quality of life for themselves, their families, and communities.
Our program combines a proven agricultural training program for commercial production with essential health and human services to support veterans in their entrepreneurial ventures and personal lives. Our goal is to increase the number of veterans seeking and securing educational, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities in the food and agriculture sector. We think it helps when we include support accessing crucial health and wellness services.
Do you think you might have it within you to do the hard work and learn the various aspects of farming? To meet the inevitable challenges with creativity and determination? Caregivers are introduced to a variety of holistic Whole Health approaches and practices to support long term wellness from within, not only to survive but to thrive. Disconnect to reconnect with us.
Weʻre not experts, but we know a few who are! We invite you to join our ongoing Homesteader Workshop Series providing a wide variety of hands-on educational experiences, life hacks and an opportunity for participants to share among with each other as well.
Our Victory Garden volunteer program encourages veterans and their families to engage with gardening and agricultural activities. This approach engages veterans in the process of growing their own food and providing for their family, while also providing an opportunity for them to gain agricultural experiences. Participants will grow starter planters for personal use and others, establish a Victory-Peace Garden, receive home-based consultations, and participate in educational workshops at the project site.
Farmer Veteran Coalition provides resources to help you start and grow your business. Whether you are in the process of starting a farm, or expanding an existing one, we can help.
